Review

The Hearing Test app has released a new version on World Hearing Day, offering a new speech intelligibility test called the digits-in-noise. This test allows users to evaluate their ability to recognize digits in a noisy environment. The app is also now available in multiple languages. The app provides two basic hearing tests: pure-tone audiometry and the digits-in-noise test. Pure-tone audiometry measures the degree of hearing loss by determining the quietest sound that the user can hear. The digits-in-noise test evaluates speech intelligibility by assessing the user's ability to recognize digits in a noisy background.

The Hearing Test app offers several features to enhance the testing experience. It includes a noise meter to measure background noise during the test and allows for calibration of the device. The app also provides additional features such as high-frequency audiometry, classification of hearing loss, comparison with age norms, and the ability to print test results and add notes. For users who opt for the pro version, there are additional features available, including a local database for offline access to test results and synchronization capabilities to store results in the cloud for easy recovery and transfer between devices.

Overall, the new release of the Hearing Test app on World Hearing Day brings exciting updates to the app's functionality. With the addition of the digits-in-noise test and support for multiple languages, users can now assess their speech intelligibility in various environments. The app also offers a range of features to enhance the testing process and provide comprehensive results. Whether users choose the basic version or opt for the pro version, the Hearing Test app aims to promote hearing care and encourage individuals to get their hearing tested.
